Membership

Flight clubs provide members with a wealth of knowledge, experience and an environment of learning necessary for safe and enjoyable piloting. They are often the least expensive way to get into flying as a hobby or even career (as one of our members can attest). A flight club can also be a gateway to the aviation hobby, connecting similar clubs with a shared interest that offer diverse experiences from fly-ins to learning experiences.

We're a group of friends that share a love of flying. We hold each other accountable, debate the details of regulations, safety and most importantly sternly look after our co-owned airplane. We have students, professionals and lifelong amateur pilots with their own airplanes who want access to our well-equipped Skyhawk. We’re multi-generational, born local and abroad and welcome all walks of life.

Our club is led by a team of elected officers on set terms that distribute responsibilities of the club. We keep consistent records and regularly make decisions important to club governance with a quorum of greater than half membership.

Dues

Our club is run on an equity basis. Members owe $1,450 equity upon joining. New pilots pay half on joining and the second half upon soloing. We charge $60/month for fixed expenses and $120 per tachometer-hour of flight, which includes all maintenance, gas and oil. Tach time is proportional to the engine speed, so members’ charges are incurred during flight more so than in ground operations. We believe transparency is vital for club health so our books are open to members.
